Indiana Hoosiers Set for Exhibition Clash with Baylor at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
The Darian DeVries era in Bloomington continues to take shape as Indiana basketball finalizes its preseason slate. The Hoosiers announced they will face Baylor in an exhibition matchup on Oct. 26 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, providing fans an early look at the new roster under their first-year head coach.
The matchup comes just nine days after Indiana hosts Marian University on Oct. 17 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Combined with their three-game exhibition tour in Puerto Rico, the Hoosiers will enter the 2025–26 campaign with five preseason contests — a valuable opportunity for a completely retooled team to build chemistry ahead of the regular season.
Baylor offers a high-level preseason test. The Bears went 20–15 last season, earning a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament and advancing past Mississippi State before falling to top-seeded Duke in the Round of 32. Under longtime head coach Scott Drew, who is entering his 23rd season, Baylor has appeared in 10 of the last 11 NCAA Tournaments, including a national championship run in 2021.
Indiana followed a similar path last fall, facing Tennessee on the road before returning home for an exhibition against Marian — winning both contests. This year’s preseason slate mirrors that approach, but with the added challenge of a Baylor program known for its toughness and pedigree.
With a fresh coaching staff, a brand-new roster, and a marquee exhibition in Indianapolis, the Hoosiers are setting the stage for an exciting new chapter of Indiana basketball.
